Zeekr 7GT Electric Wagon: Unveiling in Europe | Rapid Charging Tech (2026)

Get ready for a game-changer in the automotive world! The Zeekr 7GT, an electric wagon with mind-blowing charging capabilities, is making waves internationally. This sleek machine, developed by one of Geely Holdings' fastest-growing brands, is now making its way into major markets, starting with Europe.

But here's where it gets controversial... While Zeekr is a relatively new name, it's backed by the powerhouse Geely Holdings, which also owns Volvo, Polestar, and other renowned automotive brands. With over 450 kW of charging power, the 7GT is a force to be reckoned with.

The Brussels Motor Show in Belgium became the stage for Zeekr's European debut, where the company unveiled a stunning two-tone 7GT wagon to the European media and industry insiders. Lothar Schupet, Acting CEO of Zeekr Europe, emphasized the significance of this moment: "Today, we expand our Zeekr family, introducing our fourth model in Europe. This is a special milestone for us - the all-new Zeekr 7GT."

The excitement didn't stop there. Social media buzzed with anticipation, with enthusiasts expressing their eagerness to get their hands on this electric beauty. One fan from Switzerland couldn't contain their enthusiasm, while an Australian owner of a Zeekr 7X shared their joy of driving it back to their island home.

And this is the part most people miss... The 7GT made a surprise appearance at EV shows in Sydney and Melbourne, giving locals a glimpse of its impressive design and capabilities.

Originally launched in China in April 2024, the 7GT wagon surprised everyone with its affordable pricing, starting at just under $A44,000 for the entry-level model and topping out at just under $A50,000 for the fully loaded version.

But what truly sets the 7GT apart is its charging speed. The entry-level variant, equipped with Zeekr's in-house Golden Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LFP) battery, can reach peak charging speeds of up to 500 kW! This technology, also found in the 7X SUV, has garnered over 3,000 pre-orders and 1,000 deliveries by the end of 2025.

The secret to its lightning-fast charging lies in the 800 V architecture and newer drive train technologies. With this setup, the 75 kWh pack can charge from 10-80% in a mere 10.5 minutes, provided you have access to a powerful enough charger. In Australia, the current top-tier chargers max out at 400 kW, but expect to see more high-powered charging stations opening up in 2026.

This impressive battery pack offers an impressive CLTC range of up to 650 km on a single charge, although the WLTP cycle estimate is slightly lower at around 570 km.

Powering the entry-level 7GT is a robust 310 kW rear-mounted motor, delivering up to 440 Nm of peak torque. This variant can sprint from 0-100 km/h in a respectable 5.2 seconds. For those seeking even more power, the dual-motor variants add an additional 165 kW front-mounted motor, resulting in a combined power output of 475 kW and a breathtaking 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 3.8 seconds.

The dual-motor variants are equipped with a Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese (NCM) 100 kWh pack, offering an impressive CLTC range of up to 825 km.

In terms of design, the 7 GT is a practical yet sporty choice, targeting buyers who value space and performance. Its large wheels and sloping roof line are expected to attract buyers from the traditional SUV segment.

Inside, Zeekr's clean and intuitive design, combined with physical buttons for key functions, makes the 7 GT a pleasure to own and drive. The interior features a screen behind the steering wheel and a large heads-up display, ensuring drivers can stay focused on the road.

Locally, Zeekr offers a range of electric vehicles, including the compact X SUV, the luxurious 009 people mover, and the recently launched 7X mid-sized SUV.

With a lack of electric wagon options in the market, apart from a few luxury offerings like the Porsche Taycan Cross Tourismo and BMW i5 Touring, the new 7 GT is poised to become a popular choice for European and Australian buyers alike as Zeekr continues its global expansion.

So, what do you think? Will the Zeekr 7GT revolutionize the electric wagon segment? Share your thoughts in the comments and let's discuss the future of sustainable transportation!
